Wrong question? A better question would be, “Is check-in going to scale across all market segments? Should Yelp even bother?”. Or “Given the as yet unproven value of check-in, is Yelp’s me-to move an indication of a lack of innovation?”. Or maybe even “Is there a way for brands to use check-in in a positive way that doesn’t entail discounts?”
