WordPress plug-in: AU_Slideshow – Status Report
Very productive day! Banged out the tweaks and enhancements mentioned earlier today. Granted, there’s no doubt I owe quite a bit to Tribulant’s WordPress Gallery Slideshow (http://wpgallery.tribulant.net/). That said, in an afternoon I was able to soak it in and add features to make a nice plug-in significantly more powerful. The publish scheduling alone adds a ton of value. No more time sensitive slides in rotation long after their date has passed.
Tomorrow (or Monday), I want to add some sort of “sticky” capability, as well as a sort order randomizing. For example, randomize the order (easy!) of the slides but make sure the sticky slides are still displayed first. Set order can get pretty stale pretty quick, eh? I’m considering a couple other neat “tricks”, I’m just not so sure I’ll have the time to go as all on this one as I’d prefer to do.
And by the way, AU_Calendar is looking pretty rock solid as well!
