WordPress Multisite vs GitHub + ManageWP
Consumed => “John Hawkins: Introduction to Multisite” on WordPress.tv.

WordPress Multi-site came up in a couple recent conversations. My initial impression is WP MS was a great idea, and in some cases it still might be. But multi-site’s optimal use cases are unique and somewhat limited (as WP Multisite exists today).
That being said, I would think much the same could be accomplished—with more diversity and overall flexibility—with GitHub and ManageWP (https://ManageWP.com). GitHub to manage code, push out updates (en mass), etc. and Manage WP for the WordPress admin’ing of a collection of sites from a single dashboard. (Yes, Manage WP also does updates. However, I’m presuming GitHub is already in the mix and being used to manage the code.)
Anyone care to comment?
