WordPress, Galleria and “Could not extract width/height from image”

FYI => A couple weeks ago I put together new WordPress plugin called AU EZ Slider 1. It is what it says it is—simple and to the point (that I’ll enhance a little at a time). The jQuery plugin I selecgted for the slider’ing is Galleria. Unfortunately, in some case WordPress and Galleria don’t play well together.

When using EZ Slider as a widget, everything was fine. However, I also wanted to be able to add a simple gallery to a post/page via a WordPress shortcode. Simple but handy, yes? But that’s when the crap hit the fan. This thread on Galleria’s Get Satisfaction page will fill you in on the rest.

As soon as I get this glitch sorted out I’ll formally release AU EZ Slider 1 into the wild. If you’re interested in taking a look now just let me know. It seems to be fine most of the time. I’d just like to bring that as close to 100% as possible.  Else, this Galleria bug is just going to pop up and bite me on the ass just when I don’t need that to happen.

Problem almost solved. I hope.

I’m working on a similar problem. I’m trying to embed Galleria into an existing theme with shortcodes. The Galleria stage shows up fine but images aren’t displaying. Galleria debug shows “Could not extract width/height from image: …. Traced measures: width:140px, height: 0px.

Hope you get yours working. I’ll let you know if I find anything as well.

I tried all the fixes I could find relating to Galleria but it’s with the style.css off my WordPress theme. Renamed my style.css files temporarily and Galleria works fine. I’ll troubleshoot more tomorrow.

    Hi Guys.

I’m having the exact same issue. Are you still troubleshooting it? Did you find the ultimate solution with the theme stylesheet?

    Thanks.

  4. Nicolas

    Ok Guys.

While my first comment was awaiting moderation, I troubleshot myself my style.css. Th issue was with the height=auto and its combination with max-width attribute on the img tag. I set the width and height attributes to the values of the slider and eveything started work fine!

I hope this helps for you guys too.

    Thanks.

Hey Nicholas. Thanks for jumping in.

Actually, a couple days later I published this:

It sounds like we both kinda found the same thing, yes?

    Thanks again
