WordPress, Brightcove and ingesting remote assets – Part 1

Consumed => “Creating Videos with Remote Video Files Using FTP Batch Provisioning” on Brightcove (Support).

http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/creating-videos-remote-video-files-using-ftp-batch-provisioning

The need for Comcast’s PIF (http://PhillyInFocus.com) is to ingest videos fed in by The Weather Channel. We’re using Brightcove (http://Brightcove.com) for the video transcoding and CDN.

Also consumed:

http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/best-practices-using-batch-provisioning

http://support.brightcove.com/en/video-cloud/docs/ftp-batch-provisioning-reference-xml-manifest

The FTP Batch provisioning + XML manifest work-flow / product looks powerful and interesting. However, what I don’t think I’ve – yet? – seen is a way to automate a daily feed using the XML manifest. Thus far, the manifest strikes me as a manual one-off type tool and the need is to automate a daily task / feed.

The good news is, it looks like more work with the Brightcove API.
