WordPress and paid subscription content

Answered => “What is the best way to create a paid subscription model for access to a page on my WordPress site?” on Quora.

=> My answer…

Thanks for asking. Please pardon the delay. Depending on your needs you could consider splitting the problem into three pieces:

1 – Membership

2 – Access to content

3 – Monetize non-pay readers

As already mentioned, there are a number of options for membership (and associated content access). As for access (on its own), I would think there’s a EZ plugin that will let you determine who see what content by wrapping content in a shortcode. Perhaps, that’s the best way to start? Keep the site free but have signed in only content. See how that model works with your Guests. Gather feedback. Build your model from there. If that goes well, convert the signed in tier to a pay tier, or add a third for-pay tier.

Moi? The three tier model should like the target to shoot for. Finally, consider developing ways to monetize the non-pay Guests.
