Web Analytics (An Hour A Day) – Chapter 15 by Avinash Kaushik

Consumed => Web Analytics (An Hour A Day) – Chapter 15 (Creating a Data Driven Culture – Practical Steps and Best Practices)” by Avinash Kaushik.

=> Key takeaway (page 414)…

“Without further ado, here are seven steps to creating a data-driven decision-making culture regardless of your size of location:

  1. Go for the bottom line first (outcomes).
  2. Remember that reporting is not analysis. Encourage the latter.
  3. Depersonalize decision making.
  4. Be proactive rather than reactive.
  5. Empower your analysts.
  6. Solve for the Trinity.
  7. Think in terms of process.”

I mentioned this when I posted Chapter 14 but just in case you missed that I’d like to repeat that if you decide to read this book—in whole or in part—I recommend you read both Chapters 14 and 15 before you start with Chapter 1. That is, your organization will need, or at be trending towards, a data-driven culture before you can embrace and implement Avinash’s many pearls of analytics wisdom. Else, sadly, you could be wasting your time with Chapters 1 to 13 if you can’t hit the targets of 14 and 15.
