The day after the music died
Consumed => “Helping Indie Musicians Market Their Tunes” by John Tozzi, Nick Leiber and Siobhan Crise on Business Week.

The key bit comes towards the end, ““It’s easier to reach the audience, but it’s harder to get heard above the fray…”.
In short, the real issue isn’t the broadcasting, it’s the lack of a filter for (let’s say) the slightly less dedicated music lover. With so many making it easier and easier for the artists, the glut and noise just keeps on expanding. All the while The Guest, the one with the cash, is left to suffer.
My Gawd, have you ever shopped for music on Amazon’s music site? I can not begin to imagine that in 2012 that’s the best Guest Experience the e-comm side of the music industry can do. iTunes, etc. not much better. I haven’t checked it out yet but maybe Google’s music effort will begin to tilt the attention back to The Guests.
