Technology Careers for Women and Martians

Consumed => Why We Need to Reframe the ‘Women in Tech’ Debate” by Carla Thompson on Mashable.com.

http://mashable.com/2010/09/28/women-entrepreneurs/

Left a comment…

=> “In short, women need what any entrepreneur needs: support, ideas, energy, creativity, and answers.”

So it follows that people are people. That’s certainly something we can all relate to :) Truth be told, the right question is simple – How do we get THE BEST people into _____? Whether it’s women or Martians shouldn’t matter. Whether it’s college, trade school or something else. It shouldn’t matter. (I digress?)

True capitalism and a true free market knows no prejudice. The drive is to produce the best product/service at the best value. Those who exclude talent based on some false perception are ultimately hurting their profits, shareholders and most importantly their customers.

=> “We’re out there. We simply need to find each other more effectively.”

Again, this is true for everyone. Shouldn’t any discussion and resulting solutions be inclusive and not exclusive? Isn’t such a approach beneficial to all?
