SEO Smackdown: JCP should have known better

The broader lesson? (And I’ve mentioned this before), not everything you consume on the internet is true. You have to use some common sense.
Which leads to JCP’s alleged ignorance about the whole scheme. Ignorance might be bliss but it’s no excuse for something like this. With rankings consistently that high across so many categories and products someone at JCP should have raised a red flag. Anyone not doing so was either lying or incompetent. Both of which should be grounds for being sacked.
But such is the American business way: Keep riding the wave, don’t panic until the money machine stops printing money, and then once it does stop just lie.
