SEO Is Just Common Sense

Consumed => “Does the number of subdirectories in a URL affect its ranking?” on Google Webmaster Help channel on YouTube.

Google might not care but as noted by the presenter, your users do. In the cases where URLs might be forwarded (e.g., information on a particular product or service) the terms in those URLs should be user friendly and descriptive. Shortness and length should also be given consideration when applicable.

Frankly, a good chunk of SEO is just common sense. That said, sometimes common sense isn’t very common, eh?
