Progress is not a four letter word

Some things never progress, and that can be confusing, if not frustrating. Today was one of those days. Earlier today was the quarterly nipping and tucking of the FD AdWords account. Now before you wave a finger at me, I agree, every three months is far too long. For best results a PCC effort should be managed more closely. But that’s not my call. I can only lead the horse to make recommendations. I can’t make them listen to me.

The AdWords efforts do bring in sufficient traffic to FD. Naturally, some of it is fluff but it can’t all be bad. In short, the quality conversions and closed deals aren’t there. So the recommendations resulting from this latest review was that same as the last and the one before that, and so on. One, revisit the site’s layout and how well that meets the expectations of visitors/prospects. Two, reassess and redevelop an over-all strategy and structure that better reflects the tools and technologies available. Three, when it’s possible and appropriate, follow best practices. Yes, these things will take time and money. But not doing them is even more costly.

Let’s hope I’m not typing this same post again in another three months.
