Print catalogs continue to motive

Consumed => “Holiday Catalogs In Print (Gasp) Still Gifting Year-End Revenue” by Kate Rogers on NonProfit Times.

http://www.nptimes.com/10Dec/12012010cover2.html

“The catalog becomes a catalyst for action,” he said. “It proximates cause for donors acting, reacting and responding. It’s not just a branding tool or effort. People enjoy looking at it and holding a catalog. They can better understand an organization with it — it elevates their comfort level.”

So this answers or at least addresses the age old question—that is, the key is to use what motivates people to act. Maybe it’s print. Maybe it’s a phone call. Or maybe it’s a tweet. The point is to find that sweet spot, and also continue to explore new and better possibilities. Simply flogging a formula to death is so 20th century, eh?
