Primer on Google Analytics Event Tracking

Consumed => “Google Analytics: Event Tracking Guide” on Google Code.

http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/eventTrackerGuide.html

As promised, here’s a thorough overview on Google Analytics Event Tracking. Be sure to read the section on Non-Interaction Events and take note of:

“…omitting this option means that a single-page session on a page that includes event tracking will not be counted as a bounce if the visitor also triggers the event during the same session.”

In other words, a bounce isn’t a bounce if the visitor triggers an Event. It might be a one page visit but the Event assures us there was an interaction within the and not a plain vanilla land & leave. Pretty cool, yes?
