Is your business like a pinniata?

This doesn’t just apply to IT. It applies to all optimization and maximization. Unfortunately, too often cost cutting (and sometimes even growth oriented ventures) is applied the way a party goer pursues a pinniata.

Instead, every business decision should pass through the exact same filter. Whether gearing up or pulling back that filter is: “What value does this bring to my business and my customers?” Without proper context such decision will inevitably fail.

In this way, cutting isn’t even cutting. It’s the natural process that every business should pursue continuously and relentlessly. That is, “How can we improve?”
