Along the same lines as the social media modal, suggesting other articles / pages (with the hopes of those too being shared) might be worth a shot. The “Like this!” approach can come off as heavy handed and even offensive. While a “Hey man, you might dig these too” is more visitor focused (but you ideally still get a benefit). Perhaps on those refer to pages then go for the in-your-face social media modal. At least you know at that point they’ve been engaged (read: interested).
