“Agreed! However, the (sad) irony is that the people who most need to read and embrace these ideas are probably the least likely to do so. That is, the ability to deliver relevant messages is also a function of how (for example) those Likes were acquired. For example, a pure Like (i.e, someone who found your Page and did the click deed) is not the same as a Like that was required to enter a contest and/or access some sort of special content.

I’m not disputing the value of these non-pure methods as much as I’m supporting the article to say that acquisition in all likelihood is going to have an impact on who consumed and absorbs the brand’s messages. But trying telling that to your average “social media guru”, eh?
