Business Consulting For The 21st Century Via A Holistic & Intelligent Approach

Free is no longer good enough

Interesting approach. Thanks for sharing.

However, I believe that Goal isn’t enough and is in fact a false god. What should also be discussed and defined is Motivation. That is, what info/content is necessary in order to achieve the Goal. Defining the site’s goal is helpful. However, understanding the needs and expectations of visitors with regards to the Goal is even more critical. Too many sites nail the former but epic fail on the latter.

Call me a man on a one-man crusade but I’ve had enough of “sign up, it’s free” with a big button but little or no explanation of what the site does, and more importantly why I should care. In other words, I don’t care if it’s free and it’s “the only site of its kind in the universe.” What I want to know is simple: What’s in it for me? Goal doesn’t address this. Functionality isn’t enough, I want to know benefits too. If a site can’t take the time to sum it for me then I don’t have the time to figure that out for them. Sadly, there are plenty of sites who come up short, way short.

To me, a wireframe gives pause. Therefore, I don’t see the benefit of saving 30-60 minutes if the savings compromises the quality of the output. By definition your approach is faster. I’m just not so sure it improves the final product. Perhaps I missed something?
