Coming soon: New WP plugin AU_PostValidate

FYI => I’m sure I’m not the only one who has published a WordPress post only to realize that I forgot something. If you’re like me then rejoice because good news is coming. I’m working on a new WordPress plugin: AU_PostValidate.

What’s super sexy about AU Post Validate is that it’s going to allow for what I call Validation Apps. (Note: I would have called them plugins, but that word is already taken, eh?) The issue is, it’s impossible to anticipate what each site might require in terms of post validation, as well as what the custom fields are and how to validate them as well. So rather than try to anticipate every possible scenario I’m going to reply on a series of small specialized apps that can be “plugged in” to the plugin.

In short, AU Post Validaten is architected such that Validation Apps can developed, customized/configured and  added as needed. The app based approach will allow for an after-market for Validation Apps that can be shared, sold, etc. How cool is that, right?

For example, what I envision is that another WordPress plugin developer might have a plugin with custom fields. Along with the release of the plugin they could include a Validation App for use within AU_PostValidate. In addition, each WP Admin will be able to configure that app to meet their specific needs. Or maybe the plugin developer can’t be bothered. Well then someone else could develop the Validation App either for themselves and/or to share with others.

It’ll make more sense in a couple hours when I roll out a prototype. About the only catch is that this probably going to be for WordPress admins with some programming capabilities. Eventually, I’d like to make it more end user friendly with a proper WP admin UI and what not.

For now I’m treating it more like a proof of concept. Once that solidifies I’ll see what the next phase in the progression might be. But handling custom post types will probably come before a pretty UI for non-geeks.
