Cloze vs Engagio, which do you prefer?

Consumed => “3 Dashboard Tools That Measure Social Media Engagement” by Sharon Hurley Hall on The Daily Egg.

My value add (i.e., left a comment)…

Interesting. Thanks.

Perhaps it’s just me but on first quick glance Cloze appears to be more about managing online communications than (mearly?) a traditional social media dashboard.

That said, it wasn’t clear to me if it’s also an email / social media communications client. That is, it can push out, as well as read in. Frankly, I don’t have the time at the moment to experiment. Can anyone elaborate a bit on real day to day using of Cloze?

Also, what about Engagio, since it seems to be more of compliment to Cloze than a head to head competitor, yes?

Thanks in advance.

Mark, I do not think the two are competing with each other. I use Engagio to manage my social media conversations and more improtantly as a disocvery tool for interesting new sites, blogs and people. You might be interested in a blog post that I recently wrote describing my own personal experience with Engagio http://www.v3im.com/2012/12/engagio-improve-social-web-discovery-build-relationships/. The best way is to try it yourself and figure how it might work for you. I hope this helps!

Thanks Abdallah. My initial impression was the same. That is, they are not competing. My main interest is Cloze. If only because trying to control the incoming firehose of communications would help increase my overall productivity. But Cloze felt like a commitment and I was looking for additional.

Engag.io on the other hand appears to be a different animal. Yes, that I would be willing to try. Soon, I hope.

  3. Thanks for highlighting this post. My take is that Engagio includes much of the same functionality as Cloze, but Cloze is worth keeping an eye on. I pretty much fell in love with Engagio when I first used it and it’s a great catch-up tool when I’ve been offline.

Thanks Sharon. I think I’m going to try Engagio. And then dig deeper on Cloze.

What intrigues me about Cloze is that it includes email as well. On top of that, I’d like to see either/or include an RSS Reader. Basically, I’m looking for a unified and consistent dashboard for consuming all my similar message types. In other words, subject/title + body. In terms of reading, to me there’s no difference between email and RSS. Granted you don’t reply to RSS but you might want to quickly forward one, yes? See where I’m going with this?

The more I bounce around, the less efficient I feel. Also, with everything spread out it’s difficult to search or track down something you know you read, but now can’t seem to pinpoint.
