Case study: Facebook and Pinterest integration

Consumed => “Case study: Integrating Pinterest with Facebook sees 32% increase in followers” by Lauren Fisher on Simply Zesty.

Two quick thoughts:

1) One case study does not a trend make.

2) More followers? Or better followers? There’s a difference.

=> More value add (i.e., left a follow up comment)…

Yes, there should also be some consideration given to context. The reason people are on Facebook vs Pinterest vs etc. is going to be different. Are they social media’ing to be a target in the cross-hairs (of some old media marketer), or to be well, um…social? Perhaps clicking a brand’s Like from time to time is just something they do?

From my perspective most brands over-estimate the value of a Like. They believe it’s about them when in fact it’s about the individual making a statement about themselves. Again, there’s a difference.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not Luddite. I’m simply in favor of reality crushing myth.
