My interpretation of the world of business is less silo’ed and more holistic. Yes, I believe in using social media (where and when it is appropriate). But social media is not a panacea. The fact is, simply tweeting is not going to make an average brand better.
Also, unlike most social media gurus, I believe marketing and social media can and should be measured. Again, where and when possible. Google URL Builder and a URL shortener—I like bit.ly Pro—is a handy combo when it comes to helping Google Analytics work smarter.
Yes, I can and do consult on social media. I will however also try to survey the broader playing field and from that context make additional recommendations to help ensure that these tools maximize ROI. The tools might be free but deriving success from them is not as simple as just adding water. If you’ve also come to this realization then let’s talk.
