Myth: “We’re done with the website. Now let’s add some SEO.”
Reality: Whenever possible SEO should be at the table from the start. IA, UX, design, etc. can all have impact on SEO.

Myth: “SEO is all I need to increase sales.”
Reality: The site is a mess and in desperate need of a makeover. No one sane is going to take it seriously in its current form.

Myth: “The more traffic I get, regardless of its quality, the better. And yeah, visitors be damned. UX isn’t important.”
Reality: Even Google stresses that designing for real users is Rule #1.

Myth: “We’re ranked #1 for keyword blah blah blah.”
Reality: The search volume of that keyword is so low it might as well be zero.

Myth: “SEO is of top importance.”
Reality: Yes, it is. However, it doesn’t stand alone. It should be part of a broader picture. SEO is by no means a panacea.
